The Chancellor has delivered his mini budget which attempted to address the very real crisis in the cost of living and doing business currently being experienced by households and companies around the UK.

Whether the changes are enough to help families and businesses struggling to make ends meet will probably be hotly debated in the national press over the next few days.

Turning quickly to environmental issues, it was interesting to note the removal of VAT on products to make homes more energy efficient, including solar panels and home insulation. It’s a shame Sunak didn’t offer a grant or scheme to further encourage homeowners and landlords to actually fit solar panels and insulation though. Maybe that will feature in the next budget…
